None of us are the same exact age, even if we are. Some act more immature, and some have a higher level of maturity. So, no one's the same age. :-/ Yes, if you step on the blacktop with absolutely no shoes or socks, your feet will be burned profusely. It's just too hot for something like that. :/ Even in winter, the blacktop can get pretty hot. Just regular concrete roasts your feet. :S There are so many people I want to turn “off.”

They can grunt and groan and yell and look like hell but when you're doing a performance art you have to look and sound good doing it too. You can't groan or yell or do a dance in the endzone or whack each other on the butt! :) You have to maintain your composure even when you're dying of heat stroke! And you have to keep going, and going, and going, and going. You don't get to stop for a break in a huddle every couple of minutes. Football players are wimps! They would never survive in marching band! :) One thing that’s really hard about performance arts like yours is something that football players don’t understand. I find it kind of rude since you shouldn't judge someone just by their age. It just isn't fair to them. Actually, they practice their sports outside xD. It doesn't really matter sometimes, especially during winter. But the cross country team was just running past my house on the sidewalk from Arbor View High School doing a 5 mile loop in 110F weather. Yikes D:. Sometimes, I wish people had on/off switches. xD

Maybe you don't want to be an engineer, and maybe you want to design shoes, or do something far away from math. Our math teachers usually say, when we tell them, "And when are we ever going to learn ... in our everyday life?" that you'll use it in engineering or something. Maybe I'm going to take up sewing. Then I just need to know some basic stuff. But I have stopped arguing. ):< It's better just to do my homework. Sheesh. Vegas is hot wind, and hot black tar. They wouldn't allow us to be outside. We'd probably be inside in a gym or something, because it's much too hot. Many kids in my PE class have fainted from the fact it's so hot. :/ :D Secret candy stash to the rescue! LOL. It's not that it doesn't sound fun or anything, but I live in Nevada and its highs are 115F, and its lows can be 50F. Not something I'd be looking forward to anytime during the year, especially at a summer band camp! But, yes, you're awesome for doing this :). I'm sure it's fun, once you do it and get involved, but band isn't my thing. I'm in a regular band - advanced - but I don't like it that much, and never really have. But every April we go to Disneyland, so it's fun. :P This post actually got a true LOL out of me. Remind me to never do marching band :S . Additionally, band camps should probably be a little more prevalent than they are - I can't name any around my way, and that serves to thwart outlets for young people. The reason that young people get caught up in stupid things is that there are no or little other things to get caught up in instead, therefore just do what's there (even if it is negative, 'doing something beats nothing' - the mind needs preoccupation). It's sad that music of all things - the programs in schools - are being removed more and more often. Whether that's for budget cuts or whatever, it makes our students more one-dimensional and potentially leaves them without a passion they might otherwise have. I've never been in a marching band before. And I'm not sure I really want to. I prefer sitting with the flutes in an orchestra instead. Haha. You DID convince me that you're awesome! ;D I've never had a bad opinion of people in band but I had no idea that you worked this hard. You should submit this to some big-time place. :D Or get it published in your school newspaper. Do you have a school newspaper? I really loved this entry.
